With the New Year of 2025, comes a new recycling and trash collection schedule HERE. The normal routine is EVERY OTHER Friday, recycling is collected by Republic Services. Then, trash is collected EVERY WEEK on Fridays. The schedule is usually adjusted to one day later, when there is a Federal holiday during the preceding week. Please remember to consider what you are placing in your recycling can as there cannot be non-recyclable materials collected. If non-recyclable materials are discovered in a recyclable can, the Republic Services representative will leave the trash in can and report back to the Albany Village Office with the address and incorrect contents.

The Village of Albany also has a “Large Item Collection” service from Republic on the FIRST Friday of every month (or whatever collection date is changed to due to holiday). Simply contact the Village Office @ 309-887-4064/4065 to let the staff know your address and the item. When Republic comes by to collect garbage on that first Friday, they will also assure your extra items are collected. This service does not include any items that are not normally placed in landfill (i.e. oils, engines, chemicals, etc). Your assistance is greatly appreciated!

There will be a Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony at the Albany Park on Friday, 6 December 2024 @ 6PM. The Albany Community Support Group (ACSG) is sponsoring this event and would like to invite everyone for hot cocoa and cookies at the Fire Station after the tree is lit. Click HERE for flyer!

The “Quarter Sale” allows little ones to get gifts for special people on their list at a good price.
