Public Works Maintenance Worker: The Village of Albany, IL has openings for Maintenance Worker position in the Public Works Department.  No experience necessary, but will affect your rate of pay.  Duties will include performing all activities associated with public works utilities.  Some job duties include, but are not limited to: electrical utility operations & maintenance (O&M), water/ wastewater O&M, heavy equipment operation, heavy manual labor, street/sidewalk maintenance, parks/ cemetery/ grounds maintenance, marina, mechanical, and other general maintenance.  Applicants must be able to move or reside within the area;work well with others and citizens; must have a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain a CDL; and a high school diploma or equivalent. Public Works employees can earn more wages through earning credentials (Water/Sewer/CDL licenses). The Village is willing to fund training for anything specific to this position or maintaining Water/Sewer/CDL licenses. Employer paid benefits include retirement, health insurance, dental insurance, safety training, continued education for job related licenses, and paid time off. The position works 40 hours per week and overtime routinely, with pay commensurate to experience (DOQ). This position will be open until filled, however submissions prior to 28 June 2024 will be considered by the Board of Trustees at that Regular Board Meeting on 1 July.  Drug test and Physical required.
