It’s that time of year again and we would like to help Albany residents out with spring cleaning! Effective 10 May 2024 there will be two dumpsters at the Sewer Plant available to ONLY Albany residents to dispose of any large garbage items. And depending on how quickly they are filled, we may get them dumped once or twice before complete removal for the season.
To make arrangements to use Dumpsters, please call (815) 631-2179. And remember, there are limits to what can be dumped. Prohibited Items are as follows:
- Tires
- Appliances
- Electronics (including old TVs)
- Paints & Lacquers
- Liquids
- Hazardous Waste
- Batteries
- Hot Water Tanks (white goods)
- Propane Tanks
- Oils & Fuels
- Railroad Ties
- Telephone Poles
- Fluorescent Light Bulbs
- Household Cleaners
